I’m Robert and now more than ever I am proud to say my name. I recently attended a one week intensive “retreat” assignment with Marla North and Gerry Blanchard (and many unnamed support staff). This week was the greatest one thing I could have ever done to jump start the process of recovering from my sex addiction and be a functioning human being, husband, and father.

I can not put into words how important the individual treatment I received was and the many work hours we put into the one week of healing. I learned the basis of my acting out was not only my reluctance to let go but also found out it had physical roots, chemical roots, as well as mental roots.

I can’t share enough that the work done by Marla and Geral tailored to my needs (and my wife and family) could ever be matched in a group session or weekly visits. I was and am held accountable for my behavior but walked away from this great intensive with the knowledge, foundation, spiritual healing and understanding, to sustain a healthy life.

It is a great building stone for the work I need to do daily and the tools I took home make it much easier to succeed.

The week-long intensive I experienced through [Gerry Blanchard and Marla North] completely transformed my life. It took place within a beautiful natural setting, with compassionate and empathetic professionals who were wholly focused on attending to my individual circumstances and needs.

For the first time in many years, I felt emotionally strengthened, spiritually refreshed, and psychologically empowered to address my situation and embark upon my road to recovery. I am convinced that this holistic, naturalistic and spirituality-based approach helped me in a way that no others would have, including traditional ones involving group therapy and counseling in an in-patient setting. I did a five-day intensive therapy session with Marla North and Geral Blanchard in August, 2007.  I cannot speak highly enough about Marla and Geral or their program.  Before working with the two of them, my relationship issues and other personal problems had me traumatized severely.  I had lost sight of my own value and ability to deal with hardship and adversity and I was spiritually crushed.  Marla and Geral helped me get to the root of my problems and deal with them head on, but they also constantly reminded me of the value of balance, awareness, understanding, and gentle compassion while dealing with these difficulties that require harsh honesty.   They kept me on track.  

Dealing with problems or addictions can be hard and it does require honesty and dedication to be effective.  Marla and Geral make the process much easier and more effective.  Their wisdom and unconventional treatment methods are very effective, interesting and even fun.  We all owe it to ourselves and those we love to work on our problems.  I strongly encourage you to give Marla and Geral a try.  They are truly some of the best therapists available and you won't be disappointed. They have helped me tremendously.
