Geral T. Blanchard, M.A., N.C.P., L.P.C.
Geral's university training is in the fields of anthropology and psychology. He holds an M.A. degree in counseling psychology from Norwich University. Gerry has been in the counseling profession since 1971. He has lectured throughout the United States and Canada, as well as in Sweden. Gerry has authored four books, three of them on the subject of sexual abuse. His professional journal articles have appeared in human sexuality, social work, pastoral psychology, and neuropsychiatric journals. Gerry has also published two book chapters addressing spiritual and indigenous contributions to Western psychology and medicine. Gerry has been profoundly influenced by his contact with indigenous healers from around the world. He has lived with shamans in Africa, South America, and northern Canada. Much of his recent work has focused on blending ancient and modern healing methods, from age-old rituals and ceremonies to microcurrent brain stimulation and neurobiological interventions. Similar to indigenous shamans, Gerry prefers healing in nature and in community rather than in the limited confines of the 50-minute office visit. Currently Gerry splits his time between two homes, in Wyoming and Iowa.
